What Happened to Babri Masjid
In April 1984, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) started a campaign to collect public support for Hindu access to the Babri masjid and other structures made over Hindu temples. To raise people’s awareness, VHP initiated a rath yatra for the country. The first rath yatra took place September – October 1984 from Sitamarhi to Ayodhya.
The campaign was temporarily suspended after the assassination of Indira Gandhi but was revived at 25 locations on October 23, 1985. On January 25, 1986, Umesh Chandra Pandey, a 28-year-old local lawyer, filed an appeal to the court to remove restrictions on Hindus at the temple gates. The shackles were ordered to be removed. Previously, only a Hindu ceremony was allowed on the premises which was conducted by a Hindu priest who conducted an annual puja. After the appeal, access to the site was granted to all Hindus, and the mosque acquired functions as a Hindu temple.
Local tensions in the district increased when Shilanyas (stone laying ceremony ) were allowed in the disputed area ahead of the national elections in November 1989. a senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, L K Advani, started the 10,000-km Rath Yatra, starting in the south and heading towards Ayodhya. On December 6, 1992, leaders of the BJP, VHP, and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) gathered at the site to offer prayers and conduct a symbolic kar seva. During the afternoon a teenage kar sevak (a volunteer) “domed” the dome and that indicated that the back span was broken. Soon after, several Kar Sevaks demolished the mosque.

Black Day for Muslim: 22nd January
As we all know it’s a time for celebration for all Hindus but on the other hand Muslims are experiencing a black day for Muslims. They believed the land of Janmbhoomi was of a masjid which was refused by the court..
The Supreme Court of India declared in 2019 that the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992 was illegal. However, it ruled that there was a non-Islamic structure under the Babri Masjid. It was decided to build a mandir on the disputed land and allot a piece of land to the Muslim community for the construction of a mosque. But the mosque is just made on a piece of paper for now.
Though, the construction of the masjid is going to start in May this year, said the authorities. But the Muslims decided not to celebrate this day.
Sayings of the Court
A 2019 Supreme Court ruling cleared the way for the Ram Mandir to be built on the site of the Babri Masjid demolition, but the court also ordered the northern Sunni Waqf Board to be given five acres of land in a good location. to build the mosque
In the same vein, the Supreme Court had specifically asked the central and state governments to facilitate the construction of a temple simultaneously with the mosque but the mandir is all set for celebration, on the other hand, we just have a blueprint of the mosque.
