Bomb Threats received in Chennai schools
Several private schools of Chennai has received bomb threats via emails today, ie, 8th February, according to the police. Around 13 or more schools have received this email.
It caused sudden panic in schools. The schools in these areas received the emails of threat: Anna Nagar, JJ Nagar, Parrys Corner, Gopalapuram & Mylapore. The police officials took sudden actions and investigations were conducted immediately. As a precaution, students were sent home early.

What actions are being taken against the threat?
As soon as the reports were made, The Greater Chennai police deployed (BDDS) Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad specialised teams, they conducted rigorous investigations and checks throughout the educational institutions and urged the public to not panic

After the BDDS team did their investigation, it was found the mails were fake and were all sent from the same email id – johonsol01@gmail.com
The police also declared that the threat looked like a hoax mail. The investigations are underway and the police officials and cyber crime teams are trying their best to find the person behind these email threats. The police also appealed the public not to panic.
Parent’s reaction and actions
Parents were notified as soon as possible through texts to pick up their children from schools and transportation will not be provided.
Anxious parents rushed to schools to pick up their children from schools. Some schools also accommodated the students and staff within the premises while investigations were going on. All schools also declared early off to students in case of chaos and emergency. It ensured the safety and well-being of both students and staff.
