Imran Khan has been in Adial jail since August 2023 for corruption charges. He was outed by his opponents, during his tenure, as a Prime minister in 2022 which means, he was already serving a three-year jail term for a different case after being convicted of corruption charges.

Khan in 2022, said that it was all a part of a US conspiracy to overthrow his government. However, Washington denied any involvement in such a conspiracy. The cipher case started from his participation in a rally in March 2022 a month before his removal through votes. During the rally, Imran Khan brandished a document, claiming it revealed a foreign conspiracy against him.

The letter stated that ‘All will be forgiven if Imran Khan is removed from power’.

Khan’s former secretary, Azam Khan stated that the USA diplomatic letterhead had been manipulated by Khan To further his political objectives. The prosecution concluded That the PM’s actions constituted the unauthorized disclosure of a classified document, posing a threat to the countries’ relations. This might lead to the potential for life imprisonment or death penalty.
