1. Check the Criteria

Fulfill the criteria of IPS, by checking down all the requirements. One must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field. The age limit should be 21 – 32.

2. Enrolling

Enroll for UPSC, because the recruitment for both IPS and CBI is done by this exam.

3. Fill Up the Form

Visit the UPSC site ( www.upsc.gov.in) during the application time and complete the CSE form. While filling out you must choose Indian police services (IPS) as your preferred service.

4. Prelims and Mains

Clear the preliminary round, then the mains by scoring the cutoff marks. prelims is an objective type exam and mains is written.

5. Interview Round

After the exams, there is an interview round, one is supposed to clear that and be sure that he is suitable for the position.

6. Training Program @SVPNPA

Once you have cleared all the rounds, there will be a training program of 2 years, where you’ll receive training in different aspects at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy ( SVPNPA)

7. Final Placement

After the training program, the candidates are placed in their duties including CBI, this depends on the vacancy.
