1. Take a Degree

The basic requirement to be a government teacher is a bachelor’s degree in related fields, depending upon the level the requirements may vary

• for a primary teacher, one is required to have a certificate of secondary school with a minimum of 50% marks and a diploma from a recognized board. It takes up to 2 years to complete.
• for a trained graduate teacher you need to have a 4-year degree course at the college affiliated with NCERT with at least 50% marks or a BA or BSc in any subject. with basic Hindi and English knowledge.
• for a postgraduate teacher, you need a bachelor’s degree in the related field. after that, you have to pursue your master’s degree in a related field. after this, a Bed and Med degree is compulsory from any recognized board.

2. Pass the Entrance Exam

• There are exams for the post, i.e., CTET or TET which are to be given to become a government teacher. It comprises two sets 1.) teachers for primary school and 2.) teachers for secondary school
  Only Post Graduate and Trained Graduate Teachers can apply for CTET.
